Go back to what you did before you retired if you loved it. You can do office work on a part time or PRN footing or you can drive a truck, you can substitute lecture or you can work retail. The possibilities for part time are limitless depending on your skills and traiing.
drive school bus, part time, no week ends, no holidays, and summer off. many times you can collect unemployment. oh yeah, lot’s of vacation time, and excellent pay.
You don’t say what you retired from so its a bit hard to suggest things. For all I know part time brain surgery may be beyond your level of experience.
What leisure activities do you like that could be turned into a part time job?
I did janitorial work but most of it was at night. Usually only worked 4 to 5 hours and usually started around 5 pm. Also worked at McDonald’s and Walmart. Liked doing the janitorial work but didn’t like working the hours.
I have worked in a Museum in several different positions: wellbeing, gift shop, admissions, historic site interpreter. It is seasonal work, splendid environment, fascinating and educated people, gorgeous artwork, fun “functions.” The pay is not splendid, but the other things make up for it.
It is impossible to get hired at age 65. If you want to be a consultant and work for yourself, that is the best thought if you have a service to offer. You can also sell on EBAY.
